Well hell,anybody can get 'em in the daylight with a gun!! You ain't no real snipe hunter unless you can get 'em at night in the deep woods with a whistle and a 'toe sack!!

We use to hunt them in our underroos with a fishing net, tennis racket and burlap sack. Man that was some good times.

If you are jumping them you are a heck of a good shot sir. I usually can get a limit of doves with 18 shells and jumping Snipe humble me...

According to the handbook, legal means for Snipe taking is at night while they're on the run. Daylight shooting is not a legal means of harvest on July 4. The whistle and toe sack seem to work the best by hiding a light at the bottom of the bag.
But MAN the chiggers......
