The Woodlands bald eagles - February edition

The youngster is growing but still a bit from fledging. Mom and dad aren't both hanging at the nest anymore but there is normally one there. This was mom, never saw dad.

I fished a tourney at Broken Bow in SE OKLA several years ago in February. It was cold as can be and my partner and I weren't catching anything while we chunk and wind our rattle traps. Literally, out of no where and about 30 yards away, a bald eagle hits the water and pulls out about a 3 pound largemouth. It flew in front of us as if it was taunting us, lol.

            It was hilarious....and frustrating...
