Kimbers are over priced & over rated. If you really want something good search for a gently used Colt series 70 Gold Cup a bit hard to find but they are worth the effort

Don't overlook the lowly Armscor RIA 1911's. Best thing about them is their accuracy and strength. Reliable conversion to 45 Super and 460 Rowland. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rock_I...ry_1911_series

Dan Wesson makes a great 1911 and I don’t know of a better maker at that price point.

Kimber. A lot of features, quality gun at a good price. Check out the TLE and Covert line. I've put thousands of rounds through a lot of different models and the only issue I had was a magazine. Run Wilson's in a 45 and Cobra's in 10mm, you'll be good.

Whatever you can find at this point. I have been looking for a Colt Delta elite for over a year now. I agree with 1911 if that’s in your budget.
