2 Cool Finds in 10 Minutes!

I hunted in Frio County 30 years ago. I saw Horney Toads very often. I never saw a live Texas Tortoise but found several shells.

My dad told me when he grew up there were Horney Toads here in Harris County. He also said there were Jack Rabbits as well.

Saw one on the Callahan ranch last weekend sitting on an ant pile!

41 years in east Texas and never seen either in person.

Those horned toads were everywhere when I was a kid.
Used to find 15-20 in my grandmas yard in Weatherford.
Saw one in the last 35 years. Was in Cisco about 5 yrs ago.
Wife has never seen one before then.

Very cool!! I've only seen a coupe of horned toads in my life. Hope they make a comeback!

Almost ran over a big horned toad yesterday. I make a habit out of paying attention for things on the road and was able to swerve and miss it. Sadly I see several that do get hit on the road. That always really sucks seeing that.
