    Why am I hitting high

I’m consistently drilling the target 5” high at 15 yards. I’m shooting instinctive and just getting into traditional. Shooting a Java man elk hart 48lbs at 26”. I’m a 28” draw and shooting a gold tip 400 30” arrow with 175 grain tip.

    Any suggestions?

Can you try that same anchor shooting split?

Either that or you may need to raise your nock height.

Put your thumb knuckle in the pocket in your cheek.

Do you come from a compound background? It sounds like you are using the tip of your arrow as an aiming point, whether you know it or not.

Come to full draw, but don't shoot. Take note of where your arrow point is. If it's right by the target, you're using it to aim! Just stick it a few inches lower and let fly.

Instinctively you will eventually adjust. I have to adjust between bows at shoots. Your brain will end up adjusting on its own. If not, shoot a heavier arrow.

If shooting instinctive, just keep looking at a spot and shooting until brain adjusts and lowers your bow hand accordingly.

What will this do for shooting high? Are you meaning a different anchor point?

I'm also curious about this idea. How will that fix a consistently high impact point? It seems that an adjustment in how the arrow is aimed will do more good than a smaller target.
