Read this thread yesterday, and the timing couldn't be better. I just moved into my new house at the end of September. I have a semi-established backyard of bermuda, and I laid St. Augustine sod in mid September in the front.
I didn't have a clue where to begin with things like pre-emergents, fertilizers, etc. until I read this. Thanks to all! I went to my local feed store for the products, and their recommendations were right in line with what is being said here.
Gonna hit the yard hard this year. First time doing anything other than weed n feed.
That being said, do y’all prefer dimension to barricade? Looks like dimension is around $140/bottle which seems pricey.
Also for the first fertilize/pre-emergent application, can those be done at the same time or should they be spread out by a week or two? If spread out, which one goes first- fertilizer or pre-emergent?

i don’t think there’s anything we can do except sharpen the blades on the mower. When the sun comes back out we are going to be some grass cutting mofos
Bonide Weed Beater Ultra, the weeds are crazy this year
Then I put down barricade pre-emergent
I’ve been following the schedule now
For over a year
I can see on my property line where my efforts are paying off, my yard has lots of weeds but my neighbors is out of control. I’m anxious to see how effective this bonfire weed Beater is

I ordered mine last week and plan on putting it down this weekend. I was a little late on my Fall application and have more Poa Annua and other weeds than last year. Better early than late. Soil temperature is the key.
so the bag says min 4lbs per 1000 and yr max 6lbs per 1000 for st augustine. is it ok to go over or how do you manage the dosage?
If you exceed the yearly rates you can cause root pruning or clubbing. Here is a good video and article about per -emergent`s. The guy in the video is very informative.

I’ve had great results with weed beater ultra. Mainly used it in a spot application to clean up what the pre emergence didn’t handle.
