    West Texas Muley

Started the beginning of my 2017/18 west Texas muley hunt this past January with high hopes of killing another good one to add to the trophy room and right off the bat found a stud of a buck that had my attention. He was old, wide and had character for days.

We had eyes on him for 9 strait days before he pushed the doe into a place where I could get a mid range shot on him, and near last light was able to capitalize on the opportunity with a 659 yard second shot drt kill.

He was what we figured him to be, a big old brute of a muley buck. He's not my highest scoring buck but definitely the most character.

His good antler measured 86" with a broken G4, and it looked like his weak side had sustained an injury at one time that led to the splayed out/smaller antler. 181" and 31" inside and couldn't be happier with him!

                Lots of character there. Congrats.
Drove through Andrews last weekend....unbelievably green.
Probably a little late for horns.

You hunting out there again this year?

Thanks Jim. It's been decently green out there all year, more so than in years past. Good lord willing I plan on chasing muleys on that ranch for the next few decades!
