I hunted mule deer I unit 2b several years ago early September. I hunted the very northwest portion of the unit(in the V of the lake). Saw a 350+ bull in there at 30 yards, but very few elk in that unit over all. Good Luck!

Thanks for the input ross..I believe we will be on the other side of the lake , which I guess would be north central-ish.. And that's kind of what I've heard so far, possibility for a big bull, but not a lot as far as quantity. Hopefully there's at least some water holes, which I've heard there is..

I was fortunate to take this nice cow in Colorado, OTC unit. We seen a lot of Elk and all three of us drew on Elk but I was the only one able to take one. This was my son's (birdman11) first Elk hunt and I think he's hooked now !

Took this pic on the reservation yesterday. The bulls were going nuts. We seen 20 bulls at least. Sounds like things are heating up. I leave saturday to northern NM.
