Random trip to the deer lease as this is MY last hunt for bucks. I know down here in Jim hog county it doesn’t finish until this weekend, but I’ll be stuck at home on call for work.
Anyway, not real excited about going due to weather and full moon! STILL decided to come out anyways, cuz bottom line is “ YOU CANT KILL ANYTHING OFF THE COUCH “
Got into the blind and had weird deer all morning ( small weird bucks ) then finally around 8:45 ish I had a dark body buck come out about 220 yards away.
Pulled up the ol .308 tried to get settled in, deer never gave me a broadside shot. THEN all of a sudden, buck darts off! Man that hurt!!!
Two min later buck came running back into corn on sendero, 15-20 seconds into him eating broadside I let the ol .308 eat!!!
Top of heart/ lungs... not much of a tracking job...
