This is what ticks me off. The technology is here to fix the problem. We are either for open borders or we aren't. Can't have it both ways. Politicians try to get everyone going down rabbit holes to take their eyes off of the real issue. I know its all about the $$$ and everyone lining their pockets with cheap labor. And the economy would collapse and blah blah blah. But lets either cut off the jobs or open the borders. I'm personally for shutting down the jobs to illegals. But can we stop with the song and dance about walls, more border control, etc...???
We either want illegals here or we don't.
It is evident that our politicians and corporations want them here. So until enough Americans let them know that is not what we want, it will continue to get worse.

the Politicians that want them here, want them here as voters - has nothing to do with corporations, or farmers, or businesses that use them.
its a Power thing. They are a means to an end, and the end has nothing to do with what is good for the country or its citizens.
      That is the issue.

I’m still waiting for someone that has a counter proposal that will solve the issue.

Do you even read what you post? Certainly you can’t be reviewing it critically!

You speak of death by a thousand paper cuts because of the inflow of immigrants. Yet you want to annex them, giving them citizenship and voting rights and access to all the resources.... isn’t that just jabbing a knife in our own aorta?

You say you are waiting for a better solution and yet I don’t think you have even thought about the lunacy of your own solution...

It has everything to do with the businesses that hire them. If they did not hire them, they would not be here....period.

It is not just the democratic politicians that want illegals here. Republicans are the majority right now. If they aren't trying to mandate e-verify, they want them here too.

Whatever playa, no I don’t feel the need to read my posts, I know exactly what I’m writing as I write It and apparently so do You because you are always there to respond.
No lunacy in controlling your own destiny. You have a problem and you solve it. Right now we have a problem and it’s not going to go away. You can either do something about it or sit back and let the situation control you and that’s what’s happening. If MEXICO isn’t going to stop their people from illegally coming here then we will be forced to do something about it or not. If we choose not to do anything then we loose it’s as simple as that.
It’s really no different than when we took texas,You do understand Texas was annexed right?
We also took New Mexico and California too so it wouldn’t be the first time.
Guess guys like andrew Jackson and James k Polk were lunatics too.

You are stating why the illegal aliens are here...what benefits them.
The politicians dont give a **** about what benefits them... they sell that utopian bull**** idea in order to get them to come here..to vote..to keep them in power ...so they can make policies and laws about **** that they really care about..
corporations/businesses facilitate that by giving them money...to stay in power...

e-verify and the like means no extra voters...and no votes means no power.

I understand what annexation is and how it has been applied historically, I’m against annexing as a solution to the problem that is Mexico. 1st you seem to think we can just annex Mexico without any military action. I don’t think the power holders of Mexico will go peacefully. 2nd, you tout it as a solution to immigration and illegals voting. It won’t, they will still migrate where jobs are and they still won’t be S of the border. This is a country who just voted to power a socialist president. Right now a minuscule number by percentage of total population of Mexican citizens vote in American politics. If you annex them they will ALL legally vote, but with the same voting habits they already have. All annexation will do is give the US the totality of the current problems with the totality of the financial burden of the entire nation of Mexico.

That sounds like a lose lose

At some point in the future we will have to militarize our border. Similar to North Korea/South Korea.

Cheaper services makes for bigger profits in business which in turn mean more cash in the politicians pocket.

Yep, someone earlier said it was all about the votes and had nothing to do with who hires the illegals. It's a two way street though. Pockets padded on both sides. American citizens paying the toll...the ones that work.

$$$$!! When I refer to "Chamber of Commerce Republicans" I am not referring to local chapters who work to promote local businesses. At the national level they are the #1 promoter of crony capitalism and never saw a government program or law they didn't like if it helps line their donor's pockets. While they give lip service to border security as their official position their actions say otherwise. For example they have poured huge amounts of money into the campaign to stop E-Verify. Why? The only logical answer is their donor/members like cheap labor.

Consumers like cheap labor too. While it may lead to more profit for corporations it also results in cheap labor. Can you imagine housing costs if we had to pay American wages for carpentry, drywall and concrete?
