What would it be? Not one pistol, rifle, and shotgun but one gun period. What caliber? The question has probably been asked a million times before but I’m bored working security tonight so enlighten me.

Doesn’t matter if it’s for the apocalypse, the government limiting to just one, or your budget.

End of the world: I can hunt deer and hogs just fine. Small enough to not ruin small game if I was after squirrels or rabbits, etc. Big enough for personal defense.

For me, if we are talking functionality. I would have to say an AR-15 in 6.5 Grendel. That is assuming I would never have a problem finding ammunition and I never had to worry about the government taking it away. The caliber works on pretty much everything. Good for personal protection and filling a freezer if need be.
