The Trump Administration has been above average but not stellar. About average for an administration with control of both houses of congress. The administration has been successful in making the United States more competitive on the world stage and improved the current lives of a majority of Americans. Specifically with respect to regulations and corporate taxes. I do worry that the current improvements are at the expense of the future, particularly increasing the debt to GDP ratio.

The real story of the Trump administration will come in the next few years, particularly if the Republicans lose control of the house. Will the administration be able to shift gears and begin to reach across the floor and build consensus or will the administration divide the country further. This acceleration of the divide between left and right is what worries me the most about the future of the country.
The last thing I want from any Republican to reach across the isle to work with the Democrats. This is not 1980 and these Democrats have no ideas worthy of any Republican compromise. If the Democrats want to compromise they need to cross the isle and give up something. Republicans have been giving things up for 30 years which led us to Obama and a giant crop of socialist.

Working with these Dems means giving in to ALL their demands, with a smile of course!

No kidding. How would anyone even know the women who accused him were investigated and then were found to be paid liars?

You think it was on the news?

Trump talks new NAFTA deal live blog: President announces US-Mexico-Canada Agreement.

"President Trump spoke about the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), the successor to the North American Free Trade Agreement, from the White House Monday.

In a press conference from the Rose Garden, Trump laid out the ways the USMCA would benefit the North American countries. The USMCA "reduces Trade Barriers to the U.S. and will bring all three Great Nations together in competition with the rest of the world," Trump said in a tweet earlier Monday."

Can't wait for the left to finish dissecting every word looking for the bad in this agreement

I just can't fathom how any conservative can dislike what Trump is doing. Just on TBH for 20 years we read people complaining about pretty much everything Trump is now fixing.
I just pray after he's re-elected he jumps hard on welfare and other issues he can't touch right now.

And he defends himself against a media and corporate climate that is always attacking him! Oh the humanity!

I continue to tell everyone to stop listening to what he says and watch what he does. This is a hard concept for most because it actually requires some effort on their part. It is how Obama got away with everything he did. Most listened to what he said and liked what they heard but paid zero attention to what he actually did. GO TRUMP!

Exactly. I was watching the news conference about the new trade deals with Canada and Mexico yesterday, and was thinking I could hardly listen to him talk about how great, how beautiful, how wonderful etc., this deal is. But I like what he gets done. He does like to use his adjectives though.

I didn't vote for him either. I expected the circus that it's been, and I expected him to move further left after the election. After he won, I sure hoped he'd prove me wrong. Thankfully, he has. He got off to a bit of a rough start with several terrible choices for cabinet and staff, but he's made mostly positive changes over time there. His rough start also included siding with the Dems and establishment Reps and fighting against the conservative Reps when the Obamacare repeal was up for vote. He was still in the mindset he had during the campaign where he was fighting against the conservative Republicans. But after getting rid of some terrible advisors along with all the constant attack from the left, he's moved on to seeing the Dems as his only enemy now. He does thrive on conflict and controversy. He seems to love it. It's what makes him so unappealing. But it's lead to several big wins policy wise. The overall results have been largely positive - way beyond what I ever expected from him back when he thought his biggest enemies were the conservatives. Once he moved to the right and started fighting the Dems instead, the results have been great. Whether he has finally "seen the light" philosophically, or he doesn't really care about principles but just enjoys poking the libs in the eye because they're attacking him, at least the results are mostly good for us.

It hasn't done anything to heal the division in the nation, of course. But there's nothing anyone could do about that at this point, I'm afraid. The left has become so extreme in their hatred of anything good, I don't know how anyone could heal that divide. All we can do is defend against their goals and efforts and work to advance ours. Trump is effective for that, as distasteful as he is in the process. The results are what matter most, politically. Politics and politicians are always terrible. Sometimes they're a little less terrible, and sometimes they're more terrible. Right now, we're in the more terrible phase, I guess.

If the election were held today, I'd vote to reelect him. Let's hope that he maintains his focus on advancing conservative policies for the next 2 years. If he does, I'll definitely vote for him in '20.

Well said as usual Shane. That is very much how I feel. I will say that I think seeing the coordinated media hit job on BK will push folks like myself (who haven't been great fans of Trump) more to his side.

At first, it sounded like BK wasn't quite as solidly conservative as some of the others under consideration. If so, I would imagine this has given him a pretty good window into liberalism that he won't soon forget. When he's seated, I would imagine he will be much more likely to be a solid conservative voice after all of this. It's terrible that he and his family are having to go through this mess. But he'll come out stronger on the other side, I'm sure.

It's funny though.... If the libs would have left Trump alone and given him a fairer shake, he probably would have continued to fight the conservatives and work with the establishment. If he did that, he would have destroyed the Republican party in the process and self-destructed, and the Dems would be riding that big blue wave they've been dreaming about. Their own insanity is bringing about their downfall. Let's hope THAT continues as well.
