Its happened bunches of places, same deal with Amistad and Falcon after Bassmaster tournment shows in 2006 and 2008. The weather ended up hot and the toads they left floating dead at Falcon that year was heartbreaking. They changed much of the weigh in procedure and bag line after that.
BASS killed tons of fish on rayburn last summer. Hundreds dead by the weigh in location.
They are thinking its the same 6.6 smallmouth that was caught and broke the record earlier this week. It weigh 6.8 this time so it broke the record again.
Ivie was probably the best lake in texas from 1998- 2011. Then it got really low and had bad golden algae outbreaks as well . In 2000 I caught a 8.96 and a 9.02 in a big bass tournament there that paid top 30 places I got 31-32nd place and won one hour with the 8.96 and got third in the hour with the 9.02 .
Still pumping out hawgs!
Now that we have a place at PK, I’m getting serious about it again. Caught one just over 10 and broke two off last fall.
living on lake conroe i have taken a liking to fishing deeper structure. I know Somerville has some good road beds near spawning creeks and pockets.
Fishing was not good. Of course we didnt sit on any one structure for extended periods. Was more to get out and run the boat a bit. We did cast probably 50 times and no bites. Fished from 3’-14’ of water. Mainly around rocks. The deep brush I know of had crappie guys on it and I didnt see them catching much either.
