    Wasn't a speeding ticket, but......
In Dallas on I 45 S. When you get on at Fitzhugh(?) I think(long time ago) there is a sign that specifically says do not exit to Oak ST. 5 or so lanes over on the right in a couple of hundred yards, maybe. I did. Officer said," I don't know if I need to give you a ticket or a trophy". Said do not do that again and be safer.

One New Years Eve I was headed to Dallas from Corsicana to a party. I got off at ~11:30 pm. I passed at least 3 Highway Patrols sitting on the side of the road, in my direction. I was well over 90 in a 280ZX. None of them made a move. I made it to the party about 10 minutes after midnight.

I was working one night and a guy burned by doing 168. I turned lights on but didn’t even put it in gear. He **** it down and pulled over. I drove over- Wrote him a warning and thank him for being respectful and pulling over. He saw me a few months later and we spoke. He said he was an idiot and lucky to be alive - I agreed

I was pulled over in London Tx doing 95 in a 45 by a HP and given a seatbelt ticket. This was in 1984 and we just left the lease with 12 deer in the bed of my truck. He pulled me over asked me what the $&@)) I though I was doing going so fast in town! I told him I was telling deer story’s to my buddy and just wasn’t paying attention. We talked deer hunting for about 15 min. He then said “you’re getting a ticket today young man you pick the one you want. A 95 in a 45 or for no seatbelt. I said sir I really would like that seatbelt ticket if you don’t mind.

Got caught at taylor bridge running wide open. Speedometer was broken. If I would have to guess it was @115. DPS pulled me over. I told him I was headed to my dads office , police chief in the area and my girlfriend at the time , who was with me , just informed me that she just had the need for some female products. We got a escort to fish- r- hunt. I told her to walk in the store and don’t walk out without some tampax in her hand. Got to my dads house and he had already got the phone call. I think I was around 16 or 17.
Another time I was in my old car. Coming back from the track one night I decided to see what it could do . 167 mph. Saw lights and shut it down. Pulled over several
Miles later. Waited but no one showed up. Young and dumb.

When I was 16 I backed up and turned around to go straight out a road behind me on the beach in PA. Lights come on and I asked what did I do? He said I was doing doughnuts on the beach. I said no if I had wanted to I could but I didn't. He said I was about two minutes from being in the back of his car. Wrote me a ticket for willfull and wanton disregard for persons and property $153. I had a passenger witness and we disputed it. Judge cut it in half. Still think it was BS.

Last time I got stopped I drove thru a work zone that was 55. As it ended there was no sign saying work zone ended and I had a DPS following me. As I think should I speed back up or wait for the next speed sign he lights me up. Asks why I am I driving so slow. As I explain a car fly's past us and he said have a nice day.

              Haven't had a speeding ticket since I was 17.

I didn't get pulled over, but I received a warning nonetheless headed home from New Orleans a few weeks ago and I was rolling down I-10, passing everything with a buddy following pretty close on my tail. I came up on a line of 18 wheelers and just as I got close, a dark sedan whipped over in front of me and crawled past the train of rigs. Now he was going about 82-84, but I had been rolling pretty good clip when he whipped over in front of me and I had to shut it down, so it seemed like he was crawling just as he cleared the rigs, and I had enough space to safely get over in front of the lead truck, he lit em up my wife about had a heart attack and started in on how I was about to get a ticket. I went ahead and changed lanes, and set the cruise at 80...he came over in front of me and slowly pulled ahead. I took the next exit so that my wife could calm down and so he could get on ahead of me. I doubt he had clocked me, but I know he knew I was seriously over the limit. Warning heeded...well, somewhat anyways I set the cruise to 80 the rest of the way

Wasn’t me but I witnessed it.

I was at a weekly team roping jackpot just west of Montgomery TX. At that time Montgomery consisted of a 4way stop and a Circle K.

We were west of town a few miles just off of the highway. While we were roping we heard the roar of 4 barrel carbs blow by us down the highway. A minute or two later a single car with a siren passed by going noticeably slower.

About 15 minutes later a sheriffs officer pulled in to the arena asking for water for his over heated patrol car...

Story went that Sherif was parked at the Circle K watching the 4 way stop, up pulls an old Charger with dual 4 barrels showing out the hood. Charger shot cop the finger and nailed it. Cop never saw him again! This is the story the officer told while we filled his radiator circa +/-1985

I've heard several stories like this, minus the overheating cop car part

It was the 80s thing to do if you had a fast car before Motorola
