If it’s in a box or screw off top = trash
You don’t have to spend over 20 bucks for a decent bottle of wine..
If you don’t like sweet ? Go dry
Cabs and Pinot noir HEB got your back

This or near same price point Caymus. Those are both heavier so an inexpensive light drinking red is Josh but look for it in a Pinot Noir.

Lastly, since you are around campfire and just drinking a Red Zinfandel which will have a slightly spicier finish isn't bad.

In the $40-60 range I would go with
        - Inkblot
        - Blackbird Arise
        - Groth
        - Ehlers
        - Kenefick Ranch

        In the $60-100
        - Nickel & Nickel
        - Silver Oak
        - Groth Reserve

        Special occasion $200 bottle
        2014-2016 Barnett Rattlesnake

There are also a ton in the $10-30 range that are great wines. If you have a specs or a total wine near you I would start there. HEB has the best selection for a grocery store.

Becker Vineyards has a great tempranillo which can be found at HEB. Since tempranillo is aged in Oak it provides a hint of spice which may closely mimic the bourbon profile that you are used to.

              Another vote for Caymus.
              Also, Penfold's Bin 389.
Bogle and Josh are mass produced, but are good wines at their price points.

Dude is going camping....the Caymus and Silver Oak suggestions may be over shooting the mark a bit!

Get a Black Box of Pinot Noir and don't look back!

You Caymus guys step up to their Special Selection next time. It is worthy.

My favorite of late has been Inglenook Rubicon. I can no longer find the 2009 anywhere online so 2014 here I come.

                            White Claw.
Takes the guess work and fragile glasses out of the picture.
