I've been looking at Greece for a while since my wife is greek. As long as theres no civil unrest (they're totally broke and very slowly trying to recover without giving up socialism in total lol), should be fine. I've heard the smaller islands are better than Athens n such, but I'd like to go to Athens just to site see.

You can fly in to Calgary, drive a rental car to Canmore (we rented a condo there at Blackstone Mountain Lodge), or on to Lake Louise and Banff, then drive down to Glacier National Park in Montana, and fly back out from Calgary. However, I wouldn't go until the snowbound roads at Glacier National Park melt off in July. The Canadian dollar is about 75 cents to the US dollar.

We just got back from Victoria BC, absolutely gorgeous! I’ve never been to such a clean and well kept city. Everyone was very nice(except for the airport staff in Vancouver), and the US dollar goes farther there! This was our view from lunch one day.

Apparently I have to wait till next month to post any more pics. I HATE tapatalk!!!

Go to Greece! Stay away from Athens. It’s a dump. Get to the Cyclades islands and stay for 10 days. Santorini, Milos, Mykonos, etc. do some research. You can take ferries between the islands. It’s easy. Some islands are full of cruise ship tourists (Santorini), some are party islands (Ios), some have beaches so beautiful you won’t believe it (Milos) and some are sleepy islands where you sleep in hit the beach and slow down (many to choose from).

Went to Greece for my honey money. Athens is trashy as soon as you step out of every historical site, if you are a history buff you have to go though, atleast for 2 days to get all the sites in. Went to Santorini after. Santorini is nice, I’d wake up at 6 am and walk around, quiet as can be. Once 10 am hits, its full of people getting off the cruise ships. Food and drinks aren’t too bad. The beach there is nice, but there’s no sand, volcanic rocks, so walking barefoot is a no go.

There’s a nice hike you can take from one end of the island to the other.

For Canada I’d recommend Banff & Jasper with your time frame. Fly into Calgary which is a cool city, then head to the mountains. The picture below is from Banff.

Not Greece or Canada, but wife and I heading to Munich in June. Renting car to hit Nuremberg, Prague, Vienna, Salzburg and back to Munich. About 13 days total. Castles, museums, more castles, beer and bratwurst.

I will put in another vote for Victoria and the island.

That time of year Busch gardens will be in full bloom and the hiking is awesome. Whale watching in the Gulf Islands is at its peak in June. If you scuba (cold water dives), it is some of the best diving on the continent (did I mention cold?) English is the primary language. Everyone drives on the correct side of the road, and the exchange rate is favorable.

I have not been to Greece, but have been to Croatia and Bosnia. The coast lines are fabulous. However, with the economic woes, the exchange rate, and other political issues, I am not sure how the experience would be. At least it should be quiet as most Europeans go 'on holiday' in August.

Great trip. You won’t believe the number of hunting blinds you will see.

I’ve been to Greece (wife’s family still has property there). I will never go back unless I have to. I enjoyed the trip, but 2-3 days in Athens is more than enough. Other than the few cool historic sites, it is pretty worthless.

We traveled up to the North part of Greece to take care of family business. That part was 10x better than Athens (think hill country on steroids). If I went back I’d probably try one of the small islands.

I’d go to Canada given the choices.
