Best Bow Buck Down - Old Mexico

Second year on this lease, and I managed to catch up to a buck we call Dino the Dinosaur. We had pics of him last year, but were unable to connect with him. He is a rather inconsistent deer that visits a feeder 3-4 times a year it seems. This year however, it is drrrrryyyy, and I guess he got a bit hungrier than normal. He started showing up at a couple feeders very very sporadically.

It was 80+ degrees on Saturday evening as I sat in my buddies stand with him, in our shorts & with our shoes off, enjoying the mexican heat. Ironically last year I shot my biggest buck ever on thanksgiving in 87 degree mexican heat in my underwear and wife beater as well. Anyways, about 6:02 here comes Dino from behind the pen and in a matter of 10 seconds he was in the pen and the arrow was away (I typically don't waste time drawing and letting loose the dogs of war).

As the arrow smashed him and buried in his opposite side, he turned and tore out of the pen not even bothering to jump it. An hour later we get on the trail, and he made it maybe 60-75 yards. He isn't the biggest buck, but he's an old man that wasn't getting much better. Last year his G2 matched his G3, and you can see now that isn't the case. RIP Dino the Dinosaur

            Nice buck congrats!

What’s the lump under the jaw? I killed a buck with a lump like that a few years ago that had a lump due to broken jaw, teeth growing sideways, and impacted tooth. Is it maybe an infected thorn that got in there?

We cut it open, it looked like a cyst. I'd describe what came out as something that looked like chewed up feed.

If you compare to my profile pic, It's the same outfit only 51 weeks apart

It gets hot down there in November!
