Really wanting to make sure I shoot something that leaves good blood trails.

Any of these deer run after shot?

The one pictured ran 50 yards with a heavy blood trail because the shot was not perfect.
Nothing else including hogs has ever taken a step.
That's why I had the pic I was surprised the deer ran.

I run the old 120 grain HP Interlock in my Sendero. The bullet has been discontinued for several years but I'm sitting pretty of several hundred. It's a hammer of a quarter bore load.

I rarely use my 25.06 anymore, but have shot Rem CorLokt and Federal Fusions. And aside from 1 big boar they have all pretty much fallen insight. I hammered that Boar Right in the boiler. Just behind the “elbow”, in the lower chest. His heart was literally jelly and to this day I have no idea how he made it 60 yards.

Any of the Hornady soft points in 117 gr. have worked well for me on deer and pigs. Haven't lost one yet.

Shoot 'em in the crease where the neck joins the shoulder, dead center. It won't matter if they bleed or not. No tracking necessary.

                        This has been my experience.

I bought all the equipment and components necessary to reload for my Ruger plus 1 box of rem. cl for the brass. These shot so well I have yet to develop a load for this gun. Have yet to have to track a deer more than 100 yd.
