So the first new piece of gear for this hunt is a seek outside titanium wood stove. This is the same My Trail Co 4 man tipi that I took on my elk hunt in 2017. My buddy Jon was able to sew a stove jack in it for me. Temps are supposed to be in the teens most nights. A nice warm tent will make it a lot easier to get up each morning.
What’s that stove weigh?? Just you in the tent? I was looking at getting a teepee and a stove so we would only need one shelter and could split the weight of the stove.

Stove is 2.8 pounds including the pipe. That’s what me and Justin are doing. One of us carry the tent and one carry the stove if we pack in. That tipi I have is a palace for two guys. Tons of room. On my elk hunt truck camping I put a twin size blow up mattress in it since I was hunting alone lol.
Ok so gear item #2 I got just for this hunt is the ultimate predator decoy. The deer should be in full rut on this trip so I am hoping this decoy might give me the 2-3 extra seconds I need to get a shot off. From everything I’ve heard about rutting mule deer the bucks can be pretty easy to fool that time of year. What you really have to watch out for are the does busting and the bucks chasing after them. Hopefully this decoy will make those doe hesitate for a split second if they do by chance see me.
