My buddy went to the Ranch near Barksdale and is stranded. Land line went dead, so he called from the highest hill to get cell service. He said we lost 2 sides of our high fence. He made some repairs, but ran out of supplies. He wasn’t sure but he heard a freight train roaring past the cabin ( no tracks nearby ) last night. This morning he saw several uprooted trees. The road into the Ranch is washed out in several places. He is hoping by Tuesday morning the water will recede and he can crawl out of there. His Chevy is lifted and should traverse washouts, maybe.

I left our place off of 2291 last night but my wife, mother in law, and two kids stayed behind to leave today. Luckily they woke up early enough and quickly realized they needed to go... thankfully the Ranch manager drove in from town to escort them out as they had to cross several low water crossings, one of which was pretty rough evidently. The didn’t know it but the road had already been closed. Glad they made it or my day would have been spent trying to figure out how to get formula, diapers, food, and lots of wine out there to them...

Hope everyone is safe out there today...getting pretty sketchy right now.

At HCTC, we're proud to be a part of the communities that make up the beautiful Texas Hill Country.

I got out of rocksprings just as the first line of storms was forming up. I got 8.64 inches at my place and they've gotten over 12 just north of me where the llano drainage starts. looks like I'm going to have a lot of work when I head back in 2 weeks.

Dang that is a long way, thank God she made it. Still praying for the 4 that are missing.

Praying for all in and around the floods. My general season lease is around 385/320 intersection and it looks like it may have been hit hard.

Where is your place? I am about 15 miles north of Rocksprings off the Taylor Ranch Road. I left Sunday afternoon before the storms began. I’m curious about how much rain we got. I plan to get back out there sometime early next week.

Does anyone know what the crossing just north of 10 looks like at Johnson Fork Creek on 2169 just underneath the cedar processing plant? May be heading out that way this weekend, but not sure what it looks like. Any help would be appreciated.
