I just found out I have sleep apnea and a severely deviated septum and I am only 25. I am having surgery to fix my nose and the doctor hopes that will fix my sleep apnea so I can avoid a CPAP at such an early age.
Best of luck to you sir hope you can learn to sleep with it.

Looking at my sleep study results, doc said 2 or 3 times my oxygen levels fell so low, I should have had a stroke. Been wearing it ever since. Apparently have had apnea my whole life, I had never known what it was actually like to a real nights sleep. I like it!

I survived and feel great. I did wake up several times. Sure was nice not having any of the episodes described above by other TBH guys. No startled waking up, no gasping, etc. Going to take a while to get use to it but I'm hard headed and will make myself wear it. Thanks for the well wishes. I did sleep past 9 this morning. LOL!

Don't take long to get used to the machine. A little Harle-tsu before bedtime makes it even easier to sleep better using the mask.

Years ago I was on a hunt in south Texas and a guy had one. I asked him about it. He said he can't sleep without it. He said "it's like a warm glass of milk and a teddy bear" lol

I had a home sleep study a few months ago to see if I qualified for an overnight sleep study at the sleep center. Turned the equipment in the next morning and a few days later they called and scheduled me with a sleep specialist. I was told that I would have 4-6 apneas per hour that would last a minimum of 40 seconds each It was "bad" enough that I didn't have to have an overnight sleep study at the sleep center.... off to get my cpap I went. They fitted me with a nasal cup. Even with a mustache, it seals with no problem.

Got fitted, etc. The first night it took about 30 minutes to get comfortable (I usually fall asleep within a minute or two). The next morning I woke up feeling great. Never woke up in the middle of the night and I never moved.

I have woken up a few times since then and had the mask on the side of my face or had totally taken it off in my sleep and I would put it right back on.

What's a PIA is cleaning everything... spend the money on a Sleep 8 or a SoClean machine. I went with a Sleep 8 because I do a lot of traveling and needed something to take with me that was more portable.

I've got a followup in a few weeks for them to download all the information off my machine and see how my progress is.

Glad to hear you slept good with it!!! It does take some getting used to.

Before my CPAP is was always so tired I could barely stay awake during the day. My Doctor told me that as bad as I was that I would probably fall asleep while driving and kill myself and possibly my wife and kids if they were in the car with me. That was a wake up call for me because I had dodged that bullet more than once. If I hadn't started using mine 12+ years ago I wouldn't be here now.

What is a good machine nowdays? Mine is older than dirt and I'm thinking about a new one. What about the auto adjust ones?
