I'm am familiar with 10 codes bud....back in service bro didn't make sense to me. I have never heard 10-8 used as good.

I believe that it may be more of a "slang", if you could call it that, for a code. Hilton Yam's 1911 company is called 10-8 Performance. I searched and couldn't find it but I believe I read once that the name was intended to mean "fit for duty" or "good to go". I guess it might be a regional thing.

A "10-8" agent is an agent that is squared away and gets the job done.
An actual 10-8 call baiscally means you are ready to take calls or respond as needed.
