I was pretty impressed with that Bloodrunner design until I shot an axis with one from 16 yards with my 70 pound DXT and caught the edge of the shoulder and it durn near stopped that arrow! I got about 8" of penetration. I've shot all manner of animal through the shoulder with the same bow and a good fixed blade and punched right through. Not sure what happened but didn't impress me at all.

Here is my arrow and used the Shuttle T-Lock. I just swapped arrows because I was going to stick a tree rat. But then I was surprised by the spike.

Do you think it would have gone through had it caught the shoulder solid instead of just edging it. Or did it make any differance?

These are from my trip to D'Hanis last week.
                  All Rage 2 blades
                  All at 22-25 yards
No blood trailing needed (although I did follow the 30 yard bloodtrail of the last hog just for fun)

Photo 1 - Exit side of my first black&white spotted hog as I found it. (sorry no closeup)
Photo 2 - Entrance of the doe
Photo 3 - Exit of the doe
Photo 4 - Entrance of the second hog as I found her. (blood was just boiling out of her)

Photo 5 - Our bread theif in the cabin as I found it. That is a size 11 boot, and those are 6" tiles! It ate 1/2 a loaf of bread from the top of the fridge the night before.

You rage shooters make it harder for a taxidermist to sew the hide on those forward hits. Not to mention the shoulder meat you loose. But is surely gets the job done, no questions asked.

I have always used Thunderhead 125G. Never an issue.

See, I told you that they could only penetrate skin and not muscle or bone!!!
