Most annoying hunting show/host?

All of them that have been here to hunt have been a pain in the rear. Some were nice guys around the house but very frustrating to hunt with.

Half of them on TV I easily can’t stand. Infomercials at best with a few minutes of prescouted deer/canned hunting.

I quit watching hunting and fishing shows a long time ago. To me they are ALL equally annoying.

I now only catch a few on streaming TV. Meat-eater is one. My go to on YouTube is Randy Newberg’s programming.

All of them.

Back in the 1980s until probably the mid 90s, I watched quite a bit. I especially like Saturday mornings on (I think) ESPN even they had outdoors shows
like The Fishin’ Hole with Jerry McKinnis. There was maybe 4-5 hours of programming.

Today, if you want to torture me, tie me to a chair and make me watch most hunting and fishing shows.

I don’t know if the programming back then was more laid-back or I simply grew tired of them or if it is some of the over the top programming of today but I know that I no longer want to see any of them.

I am glad that they exist because obviously people get entertainment from them. That is great. It certainly is not for me anymore.

End of the day I think we all agree most all are junk - it is a shame that an outdoor hunting channel will put such junk on TV - I guess it is the way of the world now days -

I have always wondered how these screwballs get a tv show - I do not know if it is true but I heard if someone laid down enough $$ then they get their own show

It is too bad because in years past I enjoyed watching some pretty good hunting shows - those days are gone

Trying to give a possible positive alternative here …If you want to see a different type of hunting, don’t know if they’ve been mentioned here on TBH, but a young group of bowhunters I enjoy watching on YouTube is called “Seek One”, Apparently they are getting a pretty big following. These guys live in the suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia where they chase and harvest some monster bucks in their neighborhoods. They have several years of filming with great success of these Giants that are growing in the creek bottoms of the suburbs were no one hunts. It may not be for everyone but I really enjoy the work they put into it and the filming of some of these giant bucks they kill with a bow. If you’ve never heard of them give them a shot and just look at these deer that they’ve harvested.

I’m a big fan of Seek One. Watch every episode. And as much as Steve Rinella annoys me, I still enjoy Meat Eater and their other spin-offs.

No cable here so no stupid infomercials any longer... but when ANYTHING with the likeness of Stan Potts came on my TV the channel was immediately changed or turned off!!


Jim Shockey was worth the watch, all of his shows... In the early days the Primos boys did a good job with their shows with little commercialism at all, then they became product hawkers after Will Primos got to old and cripple to hunt much... Their elk videos and shows were the best there was ...


Bill "Jerden" is right there with Stan Potts even though I know he's a pretty good guy in serving in his community...


Anything with Michael Waddell in it is turned off too... He's a cocky smart-*** adulterer. I can't support that.


Greg Ritz is a poaching illegal hunter, yet makes his living in the hunting/gun industry!


Lee and Tiffany were great their first, maybe first and second seasons on TV, but they got rich and famous and it ALL went to their heads something terrible.


But the king of them all for obnoxiousness is JACKIE BUSHMAN!!! He's head and shoulders above the rest... No one else comes anywhere close to being a jerk like him!!

They used to be ok, they are become too sensationalized/all for the camera imho.

I think that is where most folks ended up, to much ‘jumping the shark’.
