My season has been a bust. Haven't even got a chance to get out due to life happenings, floods, and weather. Hope the weather and life holds off for a moment so I can get one in this year before it ends.
I'll leave this song here if it hasn't already been left before.

This season has definitely been a grind. A few great hunts with a looooot of slow ones. Right now sitting at about 1/3 of the duck numbers we've killed for the past few years.
The past month I've chased birds from north of Amarillo to Arroyo City.
Here's a few pics from some of the more exciting hunts.

Been a interesting season for sure but being from SC, this season has been stellar over 40 birds so far. Would be season of a lifetime back home. Gonna go one more time and enjoy the sunrise while I can this week.
Going out Saturday morning for one last hunt, my pond hasn’t been looking too good with maybe a dozen birds in it at most. Just going to enjoy it one last time and get ready to start hitting the kingfish and snapper!!
^^^^^^^^
Hope you bag some birds James. Good luck bud!
Thanks for the good luck wishes!! I’m hoping I will get one good looking bird to put on my wall, really want a nice mottled drake or drake shoveler. I won’t turn down a nice blue or green wing though if I bag a pretty one.
My son shot his first Mallard and got his first limit without any shooting from me this morning. One Mallard, five Greenwings, all drakes. Only missed the first period of school!
Went and did a bay hunt this morning for the first time, got there late and missed some shots we shouldn’t have but still got on some birds. Was able to bag my first read head and to make it better he was a stud drake!!!! He’ll be heading to John at Trophy Masters in Corpus Christi so that I can remember my first duck season with the mount. Can’t wait for it to be done!!!
Already anticipating next season and I cannot wait to get out there and shoot some more!!
