I have seen this but not kept up Is this this because they are Covid positive or

A number of players didn't want to deal with the COVID restrictions in the UK. The Olympics being in a couple of weeks was the reason for some others to decline to play.

Essentially the players are required to remain in a personal bubble even thought they are going to allow 35k fans per day. I know that was one of the rubs for Rickie Fowler and some of the younger guys.

The anti covid rules for the players and caddies are stupid. The fact no one makes any money was an issue AND this year their is a purse to try to draw players in. And then there is a few folks that have tested positive in the last 10 days.
Last year they did not have this round. They are expecting 35K in the crowd.

Cam Smith playing in a group with Patrick Reed should be interesting. Cam minced no words and called Reed a "cheater". This happened after Reed's alleged improved lie in the sand trap incident last year.

Hope to DeChambeau and Koepta paired. That would be an interesting pairing ! More so than an old Woods-Mickelson pairing !
