Actually, yes you can. I open carried in Glacier and concealed in Yellowstone last summer. We were hiking 8 miles into Grizzly territory and i wasn't gambling on the bear bells and bear spray we had as well. I saw several others open carry as well. Each park clearly stated you were allowed, but should you discharge, be ready for a legal battle.

This might get the straw brittle with those claiming wolves don't pose a threat to people....

Sad Story. Don’t sound like Canada is where I’d want to live.

You are allowed to carry a loaded firearm in a national park.

Just not in any of the park buildings.

Dang! I was just there last week. No wolves but I did see a blonde coyote.

He did protect his family. He fought the animal off with his arms long enough to get help.

It may have not been the protection you or I would have wanted, but he protected his family long enough. They are safe.

Good job repelling the attack. And real bravery by the neighboring camper.

Kind of typical comparison by the Wolf Center of injury odds being greater from dogs, lightning or bees than from a wolf.

Good job by the dad and the neighbor fighting it off to protect his family! But did anyone else get a laugh out of "they hid in the mini van for safety"?
