Ah....figured you had to be military somehow. Most tourist have no idea about this stuff. I liked the Loco Moco lunches too. The best breakfast came from the bowling alley in the Navy base. They made the best fried rice omelets ever. I do miss those.

When I hunt with my best friends they get 4 loaves white bread, mustard and bologna, feeds them and the German shorthaired pointers they hunt with (pheasant hunting in Kansas). I've been breaking them slowly over the years adding in ingredients each time I hunt with them. When I go to my lease its a get-away, have to do burritos in the morning, steaks or tacos in the discada for afternoon... more people the better, love the fellowship of it.

Opening day, I hunt in the morning and then spend the rest of the day smoking ribs and chicken. Make a pot of beans, coleslaw, and taters with butter, onions, and jalapeños.
Sometimes I’ll do a fish fry with all of the fixings, but there will be a feast Saturday evening.
I’ve got the rest of the season to hunt.

Usually opening day I’ll hunt until around 10am then head back to camp. 2lbs chorizo, 2lbs sausage, 2lbs bacon and a couple dozen eggs. Cook the meat first in the disc then throw the eggs on top. Once that all cooks up, start heating tortillas and everyone gets burritos. That’ll last until dinner time when we run into town usually after dark.

I’ve thought about it some. From what little we know about what he did over there, it was hell. He was in the first groups that landed on a couple islands over there, and fought hand to hand, up close and personal. From what I’ve read about the groceries for such men, it would seem that span wouldn’t be the worst thing ever. But I guess if spam was your breakfast, then you had to go do...that! I guess I can see where that would spoil a man on it.
I won’t eat it.
Then again, my grandmother was a world class cook, so maybe it was just that....

Breakfast is usually a couple of protein bars and a cup of coffee.
Lunch for me is usually pumpernickel or rye bread, pepper jack cheese, smoked turkey or roast beef sliced THICK, olives and chips.
Dinner is steak, grilled veggies and a loaded baked potato.
Finish the day off with some Gentleman Jack with one cube of ice.
