Question....would any of you cut the barrel of a sako a7 to 16.5"? I've got one for sale but kind of want to keep it and cut the barrel.

Can I get more for it that I would spend otherwise?

Everything I own is a tool that needs to serve a purpose.

Is it fluted? That might affect things.

I got a 24” 700 from a member on here, with a 24” barrel. Well that’s not gonna work in a box bling with a 7” suppressor hanging off the end. So I had 6” cut off, threaded and crowned. It’s not the 16” you were talking about, but something else to think about.

My only thing about cutting it vs buying one/building one is the extra cost associated with it. If I could buy one a cut it cheaper I would be going that route.

                    Love the rifle though

I’ve got a ridge sp in 308. Plan on it being the deer stand gun

How do you like the ridge sp? What’s overall length with the can on it?

I’ll have to put a tape on it tomorrow for the length.. I really like it. I was frustrated at first with it because it’s very picky with ammo. It likes heavy pills the most. I’m shooting 175gr Federal Edge TLR out of it. Had a few boxes of 165gr ballistic tips I wanted to shoot but it didn’t like them or anything else less than 175gr

I’m going back and forth between the Bergara ridge sp and the Remington 700 with the 16.5” barrel. I think the ridge is a better gun, but the extra 1.5” makes a difference when in a box blind
