Life's come full circle for me. Last Sunday, I lined up to run my 32nd overall marathon. What made it even more special was that I had my twin boys on each side of me to enjoy the course. I ran my first race to celebrate their birth back in 1996 when they were just a week old. Fifteen years ago, a photographer captured a moment at mile #25 of the 2007 marathon when they jumped out on the course with me . Fastforward life to last Sunday and it was a proud moment watching them finish their first marathon. I didnt wear a stop watch and was only concerned with getting them through the 26.2 miles. After a chilly start, they held up well until around mile #20. At Memorial Park (mile #21), spectators were passing out free beer so that was another distraction I had to pull them away from, lol. I said..."I'm 57 and you're 26 so? Shouldn't you guys be dragging me through the course, lol??? They finished in just over 5hrs so ...All in all...It was obviously my most memorable one and I may just have them suckered into doing it again!
