Between driving most of the day, visiting and catching up with everyone, I haven’t had much of a chance to detail the hunt.
Me & Talen got an invite a few months back to hunt a ranch in Ft McKavett with Justin Spies that he had hunted last year.

I’m not one to turn down a perfectly good invite to hunt, so here we are. We met boyles77 at Justin’s house this morning. Drove 6.5 hrs to the ranch. Met with Nathan and went over trail cam pics and headed out to the stands.

We’ve got a 11 MPH East wind and 72 degrees of sunshine.
Turkeys are cutting up to our North

T has his heart set on a nice 10 point on camera or the first shooter axis that gives us a shot.

Well that didn’t take long!!!

Corn Buffet just went online.

Got 3 does 2 yearlings and turkeys eating @ 20 yards.

Turkeys have left.
Still same does & yearlings feeding.
Temperature is down to 68 and supposed to fall to 48 deg in the morning.

Justin was only Hunter to see bucks this evening and he definitely took advantage of the situation.

Congrats to him!!!

Deer is quartered & on ice.
Supper is about ready!

Great way to kickoff our hunt.

4 does For me this evening and a fawn. No less than 75 of the loudest turkeys in Mennard Co. in the trees 40 yards away. Fun hunt! Can’t wait till morning!

Been settled in for a while.
No deer for us yet, but Justin is covered up with Does & yearlings. Ben is in a stand with zero cell service.
Feeder just went off.

It’s 59 degrees and it feels great!
Straight South wind is perfect for this set.
