...looking in the tail cap of my flashlight and realizing I forgot to put a new back up bulb back in it the last time I had to use it.
...trying to find a good station on the car radio that would last long enough to play a few songs before you were out of range... then after sundown you could get stations like WBAP in Dallas, WSM in Nashville, WWL, New Orleans or WHO, Des Moines... Might be a little static when thunderstorms come up, but you could at least listen to the same station...

I have strong memories of standing there turning the tv antenna with a pipe wrench and the 8 track player eating the tape but what i really hated was needing to put oil in the old junker only to have to use my pocket knife to open the oil can because I lost the can opener. That's the reason I still carry a 3 blade pocket knife to this day. It would always happen when i just recently sharpened the knife. I would have one blade dedicated as the can opener.

...'member when all the cool guys had a phone in their car and if they were inside and the phone rang, the horn would blow!! If you were in a restaurant and the teenagers drove by, they'd blow the horn just to see everyone with a phone jump up and run to the car...

That was the only down side to heating “C’s” with C4. Reminds me of the old EOD joke about polish minesweepers. Lol.

Those long curly cords on the wall phones......I swear those things would bird nest just looking at them. What a PIA they were.
