    Cedar grape trellis.

Well finally got my workbench, and picked up a file for my saw, so with our grapes growing I figured I'd use the old owners cedar makeshift boards. It's amazing how quick rip cuts go with a handsaw once its sharpened lol. Made 4 1x2x12 stakes. Made a few 1 in 3 angle cuts at the bottom for driving them in the ground. Then did some dado cuts at about 2-1.5 ft distances starting from the top for the braces. Then top braces were just quick 2 1x4x ~8 with an upswept cut on the ends, and notches made to fit on the cross braces. Tied some twine for the grapes to grow on eventually, and looked good!

That looks like it will work.
Do you have issues with birds eating the grapes? How do you deal with that?

So far the dog has been pretty good about chasing them off. Now that there's less leaves on them though I'm thinking it'll be a problem soon. I might throw some light netting over them to keep the birds out if they start to take them.
