Yep. Some butterfly the shad for two reasons. 1)for more smell and 2)for additional motion/action in your bait.

No, them 12" and bigger are what you want lmao .
And perfectly legal in a lot of states!
Texas has it all screwed up.
Can't even use the heads off crappie you cleaned and put in the freezer .

Vulture poop. Just leave your last bow kill in your truck bed, park under a tree and capture some proven catfish attractant. Kinda hard to keep on the hook though.

Here are the 2 big yellas . One took my crappie bait on a small aberdeen with a "little" minnow. Amazed landed it. I will never keep a Op the size of these again but no negatives to those who do.

No scale was available. I would say 35 lbs or less and 40 plus lbs. We always remember bigger Right? Fun.

I have been doing some good on shallow points lately.3-5ft. Blues running up to 15lbs. Not fishing for big ones just some for the grease.

Depends what part of the state really. In general mid April to mid late May.

                                This ^^^.
Now is the best time of the year to fish for blues & channels imo.
They are very active, getting fat, for all that booty chasing that's fixing to happen .
