I agree. There is a difference between just hitting a woman. But there is a justified reason if you are attacked with a weapon as was my case.

Mom taught me to never hit a lady.
She also said once she doubles a fist and throws a punch she's no longer a lady.
Things are different today than back then. I hope I never have to find out but yeah, if it were a flat out attack I would defend myself.
