Looks like ol Willie Nelson is supporting Beto, but I don't think that comes as a shock to anyone.

Interesting how the media reports he news.

Texas conservatives better mobilize for this election. I honestly think that the momentum is favoring Robert.

Cruz needs to cut out the stupid crap like BBQ ban and get serious about knocking this guy out of the race. Focus on record and platform and stay out of the mud wrestling. Cruz should have learned his lesson about mud wrestling when he tried it with president Trump. Cruz won his seat by motivating the base and focusing on conservative values. He should really go back to that focus.

There is a faction of rich leftist here in Houston that are putting their money and votes behind Cruz... This should be an interesting November..

Ordered my Cruz sign this morning. I'm outside of DFW on the Fort Worth side and we have two Beto signs in our neighborhood that has been traditionally 100% conservative. They are both Dallas transplants that wanted to be out of the city.... I'm glad to see everyone calling this joker Robert as well. I'm not a softy that gets offended about everything but the BETO tactic ticks me off as a hispanic conservative with real tio Beto's it's sad that he is using that to try and get the hispanic/minority vote and some are dumb enough to fall for it. I'm doing everything i can to let anyone know that will listen this cat ain't no real BETO and will do nothing to help Texans.

In fact, it just got a little bit REDer

              Pete Gallgo...you're outta there!!

Voters elected political newcomer Pete Flores to the Texas Senate on Tuesday, flipping a Democratic district red for the first time in 139 years and further bolstering Republicans’ supermajority in the chamber ahead of the November elections.

While driving my youngest to school, I see NOTHING BUT BETO signage. Probably 15 just on my street, homes in the 250-400 dollar range. What has me baffled, are the signs in front of the 500 to million dollar homes. I don't get it. What did Cruz do to pizza these people off? Is it Trump trickle down?

It is because of his speech at the RNC when he didn't back Trump.

So on the way to school we counted Cruz/Beto signs. 60 Beto signs and Two Cruz signs. Signs don't win elections.

That might have something to do with it but I think it is mostly because they hate Trump. Some also supported Jeb Bush and are missed he didn't do better. The average wealthy Republican prefers a more statesman like politician.

We all know polls can be very wrong. Beto has momentum and money. This race will be close. My fear is too many Republicans will assume Cruz has it in the bag and not bother to vote.

Texas Republicans got a big boost on Tuesday as retired game warden Pete Flores beat former U.S. Rep. Pete Gallego (D) in a special state Senate election in a San Antonio district that last elected a Republican in the 1870s. Flores will serve out the rest of the term of former state Sen. Carlos Uresti (D), until 2021, giving Texas Republicans 21 seats in the Senate and virtually ensuring a 19-seat supermajority in the next legislative session. Uresti resigned in June after being convicted of 11 felonies related to a business venture. Gallego conceded at 9 p.m., when unofficial results had him losing by 6 percentage points, 53 percent to 47 percent.

Flores was boosted by strong support from all top Texas GOP elected officials and Republican enthusiasm. Turnout was low, but not for a special election, the San Antonio Express-News reports. The last Republican to represent Texas' Senate District 19 was Andrew Phelps McCormick, who left office in 1879. Flores will be the first Hispanic Republican ever to serve in the state Senate. ~ Peter Weber

instead of worrying we need to get out and be voting. Polls, smells. Remember hillary was going to win by a landslide.
