Had a patient that said he made something to smooth rooted areas.

Have not seen him since before kungflu started

He was going to bring pictures, described a type of drag implement.

Must have been big and heavy because he said it needed a 100hp or more to pull

Disc with drag or roller packer pulled behind should help

I always just disced and dragged the bomb craters. The little rooting can be cleaned up with a tractor bucket.

We pretty much have to disc, Aerway or tiller the spots then drag over it several times. Up here we have sandy soild but grass clumps are so bad that you have to break them up good to be able to feather it.

I would love to have a harley rake for my skid steer.

          Appreciate all the info.

We have a mixture depending on the area. Some sandy and some clay.

Plenty of ideas to think on.

Disc and drag. And then put up expensive hog fence.

Kill the hogs and bury them in the ruts.

Yep. Tires bolted together in a pyramid and a piece of chain to drag it with. Can make it as small or big as you want.

For smaller spots, the ol cedar tree mentioned above works quite well! Did this on a tore up spot the other day and smoothed it rite up!

Leave the rims in those tires, pour some concrete in them

I used my box blade with shanks to evenly dig it up, then drug a piece of chain link fence around with cinder blocks to weigh it down. It has a landscape timber wired to the back end to keep the blocks on the fence if I get to going too fast. It does a good job.

I've got to build a hog trap so I don't have to keep doing this over and over....

We have welded pipe drag that has vertical bars to lay a couple railroad ties in for added weight. It resembles a cattle guard, close to the same size. Seems to knock down the dirt piles and smooth out the ruts. Pull with chain behind 80hp tractor in 4x4. It’s heavy!
