My son had the same idea, the problem came when couldn't find anything tough enough to glue the two halfs together. I'll have to show him this. He also tried to make molds out of JB weld. That was before he had access to the 3D printer.

Yes, not a fan of gluing halves together.

Dont use jb weld for molds. Use high temp silicone. Theres also some stuff you can buy that's redish orange just for that.

      Look up tackleunderground forum.

Feel free to have him or you contact me if theres anything I might be able to help with.

Were you able to put rattles in them?

Awesome! Need someone to do some product testing on the rattle traps?

If you’re willing to make more, I would gladly buy them and test them. I have a Tuna trip next week, and I offshore fish 2-3 times a month.

Did you do the CAD work yourself?

I do. Heres from a picture to a 3d printed jointed blue runner. You can see the wire passages. Weight chambers. And rattle chambers.

                              Very cool.

So I am guessing that you print half the lure, add the wire and the rattles/weights and then finish printing making it one solid piece?

Just depends. Most of the times I print, then put the wire in after on the easier lures. But it depends.
