    Truck door AR/SBR/rifle rack

I thought this up over a year and a half ago after trying to find something online. I got tired of a rifle sitting in my lap. I mocked up 2 different designs and finally got around to building it. Total cost of metal rods and flat bar from Tractor Supply is under $45 I believe it was.

It was a little time consuming with measuring twice, heating/bending/cutting, but it is rock solid!! It’ll easily hold my LR-308 with suppressor, but it works best with a suppressed 16” barreled rifle or shorter SBR. It uses the same bolt that holds the door interior to the door amd the weight is distributed on 2 pieces of flat bar in the floor of the bottom door pockets. It’s also only touches the door at those 3 points. It’s since been painted black and no has a rubber washing machine hose wrapped around the round bar to protect the rifles/optics from any accidental bumps while driving through the pastures.

Here it is holding my 12.5” 6.5 Grendel SBR with 6” suppressor. I’ve also can move the “holding arm” forwards and backwards to accommodate longer barreled rifles.

You know it’s a Tundra!! 2008 CM TRD SR5 4x4. Just his 200k miles last week.

Johnny Dangerr - you are correct! It gets washed on my birthday each year!

I don’t know the first thing about patenting, but it has crossed my mind... But, I believe the 2nd or 3rd round of building one I could make it in a couple hours at the maximum with a couple more (and the right) tools.

Can you take a picture without the rifle in it. Cool idea.

I agree with the notion to patent it.

No sense in someone else making money off your idea.
