This came about after plastic surgeons discovered that the human foreskin had the exact same characteristics as the human eyelids. Burn victims' missing eyelids were replaced with transplanted foreskins and were able to blink and look normal. The surgeries were considered miraculous, despite the drawback of all of the transplant recipients looking cock-eyed.
