I personally know two different people who fell and died, one off a 8ft ladder and the other off a step stool, both died of skull fractures, Christmas lights aren’t worth the effort

Lots of deaths and injuries at home using ladders.

Scary man. I had a Christmas light business for years and feel very fortunate that I made it through with no major injuries.

Always figured a hoof would be the doom of your foot...go figure.

                  Nice work Griswold...

Need to be completely off the foot for 2 months, no rehab until after that

                        Cast it
                        Knee scooter off Amazon
If that is the reduction it looks great
I would recommend a lisfranc screw to be placed and one across cuneiforms.
But those could be done percutaneous.

This takes time with a 35% chance of needing Midfoot fusion at the first two joints.

Hope it heals well following sx. Dang, man, it is safer riding bulls/broncs than putting lights up! Dest wishes.

My plan has always been to jump up off the ladder just before we hit the ground. If my math is correct it should cancel out the fall distance and i will land unfeathered.

                                Good luck on your recovery
