You’ll want the side focus on higher than 10-12x magnification.

This is assuming you know what it does and how to properly adjust it.

In this instance, save the $$

Does the cheaper one have a 30 mm tube also?

I want that same scope on my 300 RUM and when I get around to it I’ll buy it.

As for rings, I would go with the Leupold Mark 4 rings and base. I use this set up currently and love them.

No. It has a 1 inch.

I had to go back and reread the listing. So naturally I had to edit my edit lol.

So am also trying to get bang for my buck. Is there a reason not to consider the Vortex scopes? I have their binos and love them.

I would go Leupold over vortex, but that’s me. I just don’t like their glass. 30mm is only good if you need the internal adjustment to shoot further as it does nothing to gather more light.

I would say if you are dedicated to sub 200 yards I would save the 130 and buy some Talley rings.

I have 2 of these without the side focus. Great scopes. They are in Weaver rings.

I’ll be using optics planet. Got a nice gift certificate for them under the Christmas tree.

Looks like they also have 10% off right now. I'd take a look at the Meoptas in your price range. I have liked my Meopta Meopros better than my Leupold VX-3i's

I was looking at those this morning. Also did a little reading. Not familiar with this brand. Some are saying the quality is better than Leupold in several instances.
