    DIY Quad pod

Wanting to build a quad pod or tripod with a larger platform. Looking for ideas and also what gauge of metal would be best. Wanting it roughly 10ft tall to the platform

1.5" 14 gauge will work for the legs fine, if you're concerned though you can up that to 2". For the platform I always used either 1x2x14ga laying flat or 1.5" 14 ga. I believe I made my 2 man platforms 36"x72" with crossmembers on 18" centers. 3/4" #9 expanded metal for the floor, either flat or raised. I would use 1" 14 or even 16 gauge for the handrails.

Dale Moser here on TBH has built what I consider one of the best I've seen when it come to building/modifying a tripod/quadpod. The fella has a knack for building what I'd call the "Tajmahal" of 'em all. Give him a holler or do some research and find his thread. It's from several years back, but it was a great build/mod!

I’d use drill stem for legs, cheap and you won’t ever exceed the capacity.
