    Dog shedding tip, and tricks

We picked up a blue heeler puppy back in January. She has spent most of her time inside, keeping my wife company during the day. I guess she is starting to shed her winter coat. The big question is how to keep the hair down to a minimum. We are feeding what i think is quality puppy food. It comes from Tractor supply supposedly equivalent to Iams dog food. We brush her weekly but she is still shedding. Any ideas?

We have a boxer inside and she sheds all year lol. We have the furminator comb works really well to keep it in check.

They have them for long and short haired dogs.

I have 2 roomba robot vacs because my Jack Russell Terror sheds more hair in a week than you would find on most barber shop floors after their busiest day!!!!!!

Heelers shed twice a year, 6 months at a time.

You are in for a lot of dog hair.

Heelers are among the worst breeds for shedding. Not much you can do about it.

Take a piece of hack saw blade and mount in a block of wood use that to brush once a week and it really cuts down on the hair in the house.

A FURminator a couple times a week really helps

Bathing, brushing...nothing helps. Been dealing with it for over 9 years. Best dog we've ever had

This is your answer. Big difference after I bought a robot vac. I have the timer set so it cleans at 2am. Start the day with a clean floor every morning.

Keeping 'em outside works for me.

I have read that if you feed really quality food you can see a decrease in shedding. Some breeds are just heavy shedders - hard to circumvent.
