One of my big regrets in life is not finishing up my Eagle scout. I too had completed my Life Rank and had a falling out with an Asst. Scoutmaster that was there and it caused me to leave just before I started my Eagle project. I attempted to come back about 6-8 months before my 18th birthday, but that Asst. Scoutmaster had become the Scoutmaster. He told me I wouldn't have enough time to complete my project and get approvals from the board. To this day, I wish I would've just dealt with it, but at 16 years old I didn't know what I was giving up. Did attend Philmont and a bunch of the other big time experiences with it.
Congrats on following thru with it and accomplishing something that you should be proud of for life.
Congrats. I had no idea you could do that. I will forward this info to a friend of mine who did everything including his eagle project, but could not pass the swimming merit badge. Was drafted to pitch for a major league team, and let it go. He talks about regretting not being able to swim. Funny thing, his house has a pool, and he said, watch this, he literally sinks right to the bottom.
Outstanding! It makes it that much more special getting it later. I had so much going on in high school that I really couldn't take it all in on being an Eagle Scout and what an accomplishment it was but as I have grown older it is easier to to see the value of the reward. Job well done and way to stick with it!
Very cool! I was never in scouts as a kid, but my son was. He got everything done except his Eagle Project, and then found girls and cars and let it all slip away!
