Cheapest method to keep two acres cut

Just came back from my land and the cover/weeds hasn't been cut since Easter.
I'm literally up to my neck In weeds and I'm 6'2
Was giving my retired neighbor what he asked ($40 a pop) to keep it cut once every month or so but he's not been able to do it because he decided to not be retired anymore.

I don't have a tractor or anything like that to do it myself.

What does the GS think is the cheapest method to keeping the weeds and ground cover kept down to a minimum?

I have 80 acres total on this place but most is very thick with a mix of pine and some hardwoods down in my bottom.

I don't touch about sixty acres of it because that's the deer Holiday Inn as they are seriously hunted 200 acres North of me. My place is the area sanctuary.

See if the neighbor would be interested for $80

Sheep. Does it really need to be cut all the time?

If you like your deer. Don’t get goats or sheep. I have had bad luck with them. Eat all the deers food, stink, and are loud.
In my opinion, the deer will move elsewhere if you go this route.
I would just find someone local and pay them to cut/shred as needed or buy a tractor and do it yourself.

We have a guy cut a 4 acre patch for us about 3-4 times over the summer. He’s about $40/acre. It seems like if you check the local feed store they may know of someone who would cut it.

Have it tilled once, seed a low growing perennial clover, thick, thick. Let it go. May have to reseed every few yrs though.
Also most likely the most beneficial thing you could do for your land, considering the time you are willing to spend, lack of equipment, etc..
Mint also does excellent as a ground cover.

I like this. Could you also mix in grasses like buffalo.

                              Money is not the issue.
