I traded in a Glock for a CZ P-07 and never looked back, it will shoot anything you feed it accurately.

I’ve had Glock 17 and now numerous CZ’s. I prefer the ergonomics (handle, grip angle) of the CZ—just seems to point naturally for me and those who’ve compared mine.

Heard lots of good about the Sig.

Any thoughts or input from the peanut gallery?
Unless I am mistaken, the CZ P07 is a double action only or a cocked and locked pistol. I would not even put that one in the running.

That leaves one of the long-time favorites and proven weapons, the Glock 19 or the relatively new Sig P320.

They both function essentially identical as far as the operation goes.

The P320 was designed as a modular gun so you could swap out parts and change the size of the grip diameter and length and the barrel/slide. This can be accomplished with a single takedown pin. The trigger chassis in the Sig slides out after the single pin is removed and you can put it into any other frame. For example you could take a full size grip and for $50 have an entire new compact frame pistol rather than having to buy another $500 weapon. It takes about 30 seconds or less to swap the trigger group from one frame to another.

In that respect, there is almost no comparison.

As far as brand loyalty, I have pretty much disliked Sig since I saw the first one. I am going way back to the mid-80s but they would rust even in just high humidity and did not have a very appealing trigger pull. I thought that they would make a good boat anchor but little else. Yes they would function but they were certainly other better guns out there. Strangely enough, many of our officers carried them but when I brought up the shortcomings from my opinion, they would agree with it. . They would say yes it rusts like crazy and the trigger pull is not near as good as the one on your pistol but I love my Sig. Oh well.... to each his own. The funny part to me was that they would not even defend their own gun except the name on the gun.

Then I shot another officer’s P320. He was from another police department but we instructed Firearms together at the Academy. I already had my preconceived notion about the Sig but what the heck, I will try iy anyway. That was a game changer. I have since shot a total of three different P320s and love it.

I carried a Glock 22 as my duty weapon for about eight years. I had no problems with it and still think that is an excellent weapon. I am also a three time factory certified Glock armor.

But.... I ended up going to a Smith and Wesson M&P Performance Center 9 mm (ported barrel, trigger stop, lighter trigger) as my duty weapon and have been using it for a few years. It has a better grip (obviously an opinion) and easy to change grip siz that the Glock simply cannot match and the better trigger pull.

I am basically at the end of my career and probably have no reason to change pistols at this point yet have contemplated switching to the P320.

The problem is then I might switch and only carry for two months and then retire.
I start my 37th (and probably last) year on January 10.

Since this is nothing but an opinion page anyway, here is my opinion. There are two choices and both are striker fired weapons. One has been around for a long time and one of the great game changing guns of all time. That is the Goock. It is rocksolid and has a long history of dependability and actual combat to back it up.

The other is a long time arms company that I did not particularly like however they have come out with what I think he is easily one of the top three pistols on the market. Add in what you can do with it makes it even more appealing with different size grips, frames, slide and barrel. All of that means nothing if the trigger is not worth a crap and the gun does not function. In both cases I think the Sig is excellent.

If it is possible to try one before you make the decision, I would at least check out a P320. Heck, shoot it side-by-side with the Glock. I would have no hesitation with the Sig but again, to each his own. If someone gave me a Glock 19, I would not be mad.

CZ. Sold all my glocks after getting a P10c and have since added TSO,P07,P09. The P07 and P09 are insanely accurate guns for the money. I switch back and forth on the P10/P07 as my edc. They just point and shoot well.

I think the P10 and c are striker fired. That would definitely be in the mix... but he apparently only has the DA/SA 07 choice.

I own all three. The CZ is nice, but incomplete imo. I think that one needs to go to Cajun Gun Works or CZ Specialist to get the best out of it. The Glock is a brick. I don’t care for it at all but they’re ubiquitous so if something breaks getting parts should never be an issue. The P320 X series is fantastic. If they’re springing for for one of those that’d be the way I’d go. (I’d own a lot fewer handguns if they had been released years ago.)

I'd fondle all 3 and let my hand pick the one it likes.
