Not really a honky tonk, but the Hallettsville KC hall used to have some rowdy dances. TUB always had the house packed.

I do miss the Hall of Fame (or shame as we sometimes called it) in College Station. Sad that it’s now a Wal-Mart parking lot.

No ones mentioned the Stage Coach Inn in FTW or better yet Panther Hall. Saw Jerry Lee Lewis there and got to see a stand in for No Show Jones. Crowd made the best of it.

As an avid Texas Country fan, that is complete BS. No Gruene hall, billy bobs, thirsty Amarillo, Firehouse in Abilene etc etc.

              Banita Creek Hall in Nac

They gave a bad definition of “Honky Tonk”, which excluded most real beer joints. As mentioned, that “magazine” is trash.

****’em, I put a lot more stock in the opinions of folks here.

Do we still have to worry about “bandwidth”?

Let's not forget about the Orange Blossom outside of Mt Pleasant. Didn't spend a lot of time there, but when I did, well, let's just say "Good Times"!!!
And the Cowboy in Mexia. And I think by God it's still there!!! Spent a many Wed nites there. That was Ladies Night!!

I tried to read and didnt get far. Im trying to givem a fair shake...but...

If youve worn suede boots to a dancehall...raise your hand. You either pack fudge, have a split tail, and/or smoke menthols.

In all honesty...Ive worn suede boots...in the desert...wearing a uniform.

                            Ill try to keep reading.

My favorite of all times has to be New Bielau dance hall. Had some great times there growing up.
Man I went to a lot of dances there before it burned down.

In Houston area I felt the top places where

                                Tin Hall
                                Virginia City
                                Willies Night Life
                                Night Life
                                Midnight Rodeo
                                Wild Bills
                                Long Horn
                                Hallaballoos
                                T-Town
                                Roy Mezas
                                Beas

There were many more depending on your flavor but those were popular at different times from early 90’s to about 2005. Some are still here and others are gone but not forgotten.
