Youth 16 and under can hunt without a permit all season from what Ive read. I was wondering the same.

It’s youth until the regular opener is out there from my understanding. The regular is delayed from regular bow season. Grapevine rules. Who knows, but yes it’s youth out there this weekend. Tightened up my sons xbow this evening so he can knock em down.

That's awesome. Any chance you could share how you made it or what DIY guide you used? Been wanting to try a saddle but man those things are expensive!

The date are the same for both youth and adult season. Thats from the Grapevine website.

As far as the saddle, I get all my straps from strapworks.com and ideas came from saddlehunter. That was my second attempt at the 2 piece. The first was too big. I will try to find the measurements I used and post them in a bit. Im 6' and 215 around a 35" waist.

Howdy Gents,

1st time getting drawn on the vine! Looking forward to the upcoming season and being able to get out in the woods so close to home. Done a little scouting and man it sure is thick out there. If I end up seeing as many deer as I’ve seen snakes it will be a good season!!
