My dad spent 12 hours floating in Lyte Gulf on December 7th 1944 after the ship he was on (USS Mahan) was hit by a Japanese bomber during the Battle of Lyte Gulf.

If you have ever spent the night offshore shark fishing you would say no believe me. You would definitely be getting circles by 10ft plus tigers, hammers and bulls in the gulf. The bulls and tigers like to do a check bite at times just to see what you are. That check bite by itself can killl you! So I’m saying 6 figures ++. You would definitely be in danger.

If this happens does my family get the money still? I didn't lose the challenge technically. That would have to be part of the deal for me. If I knew someone was getting the money if I wasn't there to receive it myself I'd be at peace with whatever happened.

I know a few people that really struggle through life and if that's what it took to change that,so be it. I have good folks waitin on me in Heaven so I'm cool with it.

People soak shark baits 24 hours, in sharky areas and dont get bit all the time. I am thinking the amount of man eaters in the ocean, divided by its size would be pretty small. Sun and water would be my biggest concern. Given the right equipment, wouldnt be much different than an extended Frio river float.
